Crazy things
The Finns are absolutely crazy about good coffee, a consumption of 14 kilograms per person annually. The national statistics bureau says there is a sauna for every household in Finland; another world record. A sauna what could be more therapeutic than an hour spent slapping yourself with birch leaves while sat in temperatures of up to 90 degrees Celsius?

The Finnish winter can be harsh with very cold winters with temperatures as low as -40C and darkness during the end of October through the beginning of January. The summers are with near continuous daylight. June 21 is called the "nightless night" or Juhannus. In summer temperatures often rises above 20°C (68 F) and occasionally reaches 30°C.
